Typical WiFi and WiMAX service login occurs with a username and password using a client application or
on a webpage via secure socket layer (SSL). NNU supports both of these login methods and can either
authenticate the user against the NNU-hosted user account information or against a third party database.
NetNearU typically houses user account information which is used for billing and authentication
purposes. NNU is also capable of supporting user authentication for the use of the wireless network
by authenticating against a third party data source. For example, a user may sign in to a wireless
networks through a captive portal by using a frequent flier customer number or home internet provider
email address. NNU partners with the third party to establish authentication and security protocols.
In this way, users do not have to create new login credentials.
