Concourse Communications Selects TRACKOS™ System by NetNearU
Leading Airport WiFi Operator Partners With Proven OSS Supplier
Chicago, IL and College Station TX – October 6, 2003 – Concourse Communications Group, the leading developer of neutral-host, wireless access systems in airports, has selected NetNearU Corp’s TRACKOS™ Operational Support System (OSS) to support services over its Wi-Fi networks at Minneapolis-St.Paul International and LaGuardia Airports.
“ Concourse recently took back direct operational responsibility of its networks, and it’s important that we utilize well-proven OSS’s to enable reliable service for the daily users and subscribers of our WISP roaming partners,” said Joe Beatty, CEO of Concourse Communications. “The airports are telling us they want true neutrality in the provision of wireless voice and data services, and we are responding,” he adds.
TRACKOS will provide end-user authentication, credit card authorization, network management support and customer support. It was chosen by Concourse because it is carrier-grade and highly scalable, therefore well suited for venues that continue to exhibit double-digit, month-to-month growth.
“ The WiFi TRACKOS, ‘just add Internet’ solution, is the preferred OSS for reliable and rapid deployment of hotspots,” said Larry James, chairman and CEO of NetNearU Corp. “We are pleased to include these Concourse airports in the growing portfolio of high-trafficked WiFi hotspots that are managed by TRACKOS,” he adds.
“ Airports are key hotspot locations. Travelers prize Wi-Fi access and increasingly expect it to be available in every airport to which they fly. Large airports are all deploying or planning to deploy Wi-Fi access and I expect that even smaller airports will increasingly join in,” says Analyst Monica Paolini of Senza Fili Consulting.
