NNU Architect™
NNU Architect was designed
to address many of the issues that confront kiosk designers and developers.
Ease of use, flexibility and rapid deployment were the overriding design goals
for the NNU Architect/Runtime Engine project.
Ease of Use
NNU Architect uses the
same design concepts as many of today's most popular Rapid Application Development
(RAD) tools. The designer sees the interface as the end user would, directly
placing components on the interface and adjusting their properties and behaviors
to suit the needs of the application. The designer can test and debug the interface
in the NNU Architect development environment, allowing for rapid prototyping
and testing.
Flexibility
NNU Architect offers unprecedented
scripting flexibility, allowing users to choose between JavaScript, VBScript,
Delphi, Perl and Python. Developers now have more options when determining the
scripting language that best suits their needs. Designers can build upon the
features of the languages, designing custom modules that can interact with remote
servers, directly access databases and provide a level of user interaction unattainable with basic scripting languages.
NNU Architect allows designers
to include their own or third-party ActiveX and OLE objects. Designers can incorporate
objects that they have designed with other tools or languages. They can also
make use of the myriad of third party objects and components that exist on the
market. Since NNU Architect allows designers to make use of components in this
way, it is possible to constantly update the applications to make use of the
latest software and technology. NNU Architect is a tool that will continue to
grow in power and flexibility.
Rapid Deployment
It is a simple matter
to package a completed interface and send it off to the kiosks in the field.
NNU Architect lends itself to fast, incremental updates that allows designers
to keep the content fresh and current, attracting more new end-users and keeping
existing ones.
