The wireless network is a Local Area Network (LAN) that replaces wires and cables with radio frequency (RF) connections. Users can experience the Internet in the fast lane by connecting to the system using wireless devices such as laptops, PDAs and hand held computers at transfer speeds up to eleven megabits per second. Wireless networks are a convenient way to access the Internet, email, instant messaging services and your company's network.

NetNearU has two distinct wireless Internet access solutions. The NNU RAP Wireless Gateway RP-5001 includes an 802.11b, or Wi-Fi, wireless access point. The NNU RAP Gateway RP-5001-NW offers connectivity to third party external access points. These access points can support 802.11a, 802.11g and virtually any other wireless protocol.

NNU Routing Access Point (RAP) is an integrated network access control device that is intended to offer a cost effective and easily deployed solution for public access wireless networking. The RAP integrates all the functionality needed to provide service to a reasonably sized location. Once connected to a broadband Internet feed, the RAP can provide a hotspot service within minutes and most often does not require any onsite configuration.

The Routing Access Point is intended for use with NetNearU's remote management and AAA services. These packages build on more than five years of experience in the public kiosk industry and provide customers with reliable and prompt information about the status of their systems, as well as important user management and billing functionality. Together these packages form one of the most robust and flexible turnkey hotspot packages in the industry.

NNU RAP Gateway RP-7001-NW The RP-7001-NW is robust, cost-effective solution for providing public Internet access. The RP-7001-NW is a network gateway that provides user authentication, access control and monitoring services. The RP-7001-NW is designed to offer location owners the flexibility to expand their coverage and services. Acting as a gateway, the RP-7001-NW can provide coverage for a wide range of environments and network types. Location owners are not tied to single technology or coverage area. They can offer their customers and guests a wide range of wired and wireless services where they are needed.

NNU RAP Wireless Gateway RP-5001 The RP-5001 is a "plug and play" wireless public access solution. The RP-5001 takes the same user authentication, access control and monitoring services of the RP-5001-NW and adds an integrated 802.11b Wi-Fi access point. The RP-5001 is ideal for smaller locations looking to provide basic wireless services to their guests and customers. The location owners only need a broadband Internet connection; everything else is included with the RP-5001 unit.
